About the event

Few places showcase autumn quite like Symonds Yat. As the ancient woodland turns to shades of gold, amber and copper, this beautiful 7.5-mile guided circular walk explores one of the Wye Valley's most iconic landscapes.

Starting from Symonds Yat Rock Visitor car park & cafe, we'll follow woodland paths and forest tracks through the steep-sided gorge carved over thousands of years by the River Wye. At two points during the walk, we'll descend to the river's edge, where the Wye winds its way through sweeping bends beneath towering wooded slopes, creating some of the most memorable scenery in the valley.

November is also a wonderful time for fungi, so we'll keep an eye out for the fascinating mushrooms that thrive amongst the fallen leaves and ancient woodland floor.

Leaving the forest behind for a while, we'll pass through the peaceful Saxon village of English Bicknor, home to the historic Bicknor…
