COLLABORATIONS

Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with a wide range of charities, venues, organisations, festivals, and local businesses. Each partnership has been uniquely rewarding — from creating bespoke walks for events and retreats to supporting community projects, wellbeing initiatives, and corporate team-building days. As a qualified and experienced walking guide, I love working with others to bring the landscape to life in meaningful and memorable ways.

If you’re interested in weaving a guided walk into your event, service, retreat, or project, I’d love to explore the possibilities with you. Scroll down to discover what a collaboration with me can look like — and if you’d like to chat further, please feel free to email me at info@sarahpricehiking.co.uk, or give me a call on 07570 946074. I’d be delighted to hear from you.

These are some of my collaborations.

Hay Literature Festival

Hay Festival Hay-on-Wye logo

For the 2025 Spring Festival, I was invited to lead three special sold-out walks with guest artists.

These included a countryside walk with TV presenter Kate Humble; a celebratory walk with three female Everest summiteers marking the anniversary of the first woman to reach the top; and an adventure-themed walk with journalist Phoebe Smith and Welsh singer-songwriter Cerys Matthews.

I designed and led each route using my deep local knowledge, guiding a wonderfully mixed group of festival-goers while sharing stories, history, and insights from the landscape.

The artists walked alongside the group, chatting and connecting with participants as we went.

Following the success of these events, the festival has asked me to help shape the walking programme for Spring 2026.

Steam Railway in the Brecon Beacons

I was invited by the Brecon Mountain Railway Company to create and lead a series of monthly guided walks to complement their steam train experience in the National Park. The aim was to help visitors step beyond the carriage and explore the stunning scenery around the railway line.

Some walks followed a linear route back to the starting station, while others were circular walks that finished with a relaxing train ride. Along the way, we visited waterfalls, forests, ancient stones, and enjoyed sweeping views of the mountains and reservoirs below.

I also designed a collection of self-guided walking routes and descriptions for the company to use in their visitor leaflets. Following the success of the programme, I’ve now been asked to lead a further four walks for them in 2026.

On Foot Holidays

On Foot Holidays - walking in the Welsh Borders

I work with On Foot Holidays as their contact on the ground for the Borders route — a beautiful journey tracing the England–Wales border along sections of Offa’s Dyke, finishing right here in Hay-on-Wye. I support their walkers throughout their trip, offering local knowledge, practical help, and on-route guidance whenever it’s needed.

The video above gives a taste of the landscapes they’ll explore and why I so often recommend this route: big skies, rolling hills, ancient paths, and a real sense of travelling through the story of the border itself. For overseas visitors especially, it’s a gorgeous and gentle way to experience this part of Britain on foot.

The Outdoor Partnership Charity

I began working with The Outdoor Partnership last year as a volunteer Ambassador, creating a series of free countryside walks for the 60+ community around Builth Wells. The response was incredible — the walks were full, the need was obvious, and the charity quickly secured funding to run a much longer weekly programme for 2025.

Since then, they’ve asked me to lead the spring series next year and to write two easy-to-follow walking routes so the group can also head out and self-guide. Each walk includes simple, confidence-building map-reading skills too, which has become a really fun and empowering part of the sessions.

Bannau Brycheiniog National Park Authority

As a National Park Ambassador, I’ve completed their training programme to deepen my understanding of Bannau Brycheiniog’s landscapes, culture, and visitor experience — and I’m proud to play a small part in welcoming people into this special place. I’ve recently supported the Park Authority by advising on locations for their upcoming accessible walking guide, and I also led a guided walk for their Dark Skies Weekend this year, exploring Mynydd Illtyd common from the Visitor Centre. Following that, the Hay Festival has invited the National Park and me to collaborate on shaping the walking programme for Spring 2026 in Hay-on-Wye, which I’m really excited to help bring to life.

Church of England

Abbeydore Deanery

In 2023, I was invited by the Abbeydore Deanery, (part of the Herefordshire Church of England diocese), in the Golden Valley to design and lead a series of weekly wellbeing walks. Funded through a government grant supporting faith communities’ mental health work during the Covid-19 pandemic, these walks offered isolated residents a safe, welcoming space to meet others, get gentle exercise, and boost their wellbeing. The feedback from walkers was heart-warming and poignant — many shared that they wouldn’t have gone out if it wasn’t for the walks, and that new friendships had been formed. Each walk finished with refreshments in local village or church halls, and they were always fully booked.

I have also been volunteering for three years to assist with Reflective Rambles, free short monthly walks in the deanery with nature-based reflections led by the vicar or another guide.

Beyond this, I have been championing the new Golden Valley Pilgrim Way, breaking the 60-mile route through the Golden Valley into manageable day sections; we completed the whole route over 2024. I am passionate about promoting this route to anyone, whether religious or not, as I believe it offers a fantastic walking experience. Following my ongoing involvement, the diocese has now commissioned me as an Outdoor Missioner.

Yoga & Walking Retreats

I’ve been leading walks for Adventure Yogi’s Brecon Beacons retreats for the past three years, creating two bespoke routes that have become a much-loved part of their programme. These walks weave beautifully into the retreat experience — giving people time to unwind, ground themselves in nature, and share the day with others in a relaxed, supported way.

This short video captures a little of why I love guiding for Adventure Yogi and what these mindful, scenic walks offer to everyone who joins.

Grove Farm Glamping & Outdoor Swimming

I’ve been collaborating with Emily at Grove Farm, a glamping and outdoor adventure site in the Golden Valley, to run Wild Walk & Water days for women. These small, beginner-friendly events combine a 6-mile circular walk led by me with a guided cold-water dip in a forest river, expertly led by Emily. Each day finishes with a hot drink and a brownie — the perfect way to celebrate braving the water! Set in the stunning landscapes of the Brecon Beacons National Park, these days have been hugely popular, and we have two more planned for 2026.

Llangasty Retreat House

Llangasty House logo

I have had the pleasure of leading two 2-day walking retreats at Llangasty Retreat House, set in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park beside the tranquil Llangorse Lake, and I’m due to lead another in spring next year. These lightly led retreats combine gentle countryside walking — along fields, lanes, bridleways, and woodland — with pauses for reflection, poems, and Celtic Christian-inspired meditations, allowing participants to slow down, connect with nature, and nurture their spirituality.

Walks are accessible for beginners and experienced walkers alike, with routes of up to six miles at a relaxed pace, and opportunities to simply stop and admire the beautiful surroundings. The retreat house itself offers peaceful spaces for prayer, quiet reflection, and fellowship, making it the perfect base for stepping away from everyday life and experiencing the Brecon Beacons in a mindful, restorative way.
