About the event
This 4-mile guided walk is the perfect “next step” if you’ve been building your confidence on my Saturday morning walks — or if you’re simply ready to explore a slightly more remote landscape in supportive company.
We begin near Pengenffordd and head out onto beautiful open moorland on the edge of the Black Mountains within Brecon Beacons National Park (Parc Cenedlaethol Bannau Brycheiniog). Walking alongside the dramatic Dragon’s Back ridge, we’ll enjoy wide skies and sweeping views that make you feel wonderfully small in the best possible way.
From there, we cross over the ridge and descend into a tucked-away valley, where a small mountain brook runs down from the high ground above. After crossing the stream, we pass a quiet farm and gradually begin our steady climb around the base of the hillside towards the striking ruins of Castell Dinas.
