About the event
Join us for a refreshing 4.5-mile circular, (grade Low Moderate, see below PDF), walk exploring the beautiful village of Llangattock, one of the Brecon Beacons’ hidden gems. Sitting peacefully on the banks of the River Usk opposite Crickhowell, Llangattock is steeped in history — even older than its famous neighbour — with an ancient church and timeless village charm.
We’ll begin our route by visiting the historic Llangattock church, before joining the tranquil Brecon to Monmouth canal. From there, we’ll follow quiet country lanes, woodland paths, and field tracks, enjoying ever-changing views as we climb to around 220 metres. Although the route has some steep bits, they are intersperse with flat sections, and we will take as long as we need to walk the uphills! From this height, we’re rewarded with stunning panoramas of the surrounding mountains and the Usk Valley.
