About the event

Join me for a truly special Eve Summer Walk on Hay Bluff Common, high on the edge of the Black Mountains beneath the dramatic sweep of Hay Bluff itself. Sitting at around 450 metres above sea level, this open moorland landscape feels wonderfully expansive, and in the soft summer evening light the views are breathtaking — across the Wye Valley and, on clear evenings, all the way to Pen y Fan in the distance.

This circular walk of approximately 3–4 miles takes place at a steady, relaxed pace, allowing time to enjoy the surroundings and soak up the atmosphere. We’ll wander across undulating moorland, through swaying bracken and over small, bubbling brooks that begin their journey high on the mountainside. Along the way we’ll encounter ponies and sheep, visit a Neolithic burial mound, and walk sections of the iconic Offa’s Dyke Path, rich in history and story.

The walk lasts around 2 hours,…
