About the event

A very special and intimate walking experience in the heart of the Black Mountains.

Join me, as we walk alongside acclaimed Welsh poet, author and playwright Owen Sheers for an unforgettable guided walk exploring the beautiful Skirrid mountain near Abergavenny.

Best known for his award-winning poetry collection Skirrid Hill, Owen will accompany the group throughout the walk, stopping to read selected pieces of his work within the very landscape that inspired much of his writing. To hear poetry spoken by the author himself, surrounded by the mountain scenery, history and atmosphere that shaped it, promises to be a truly unique experience.

During the walk, Owen will also read an extract from his acclaimed novel Resistance, while looking out towards the Black Mountains and the remote valleys where the story itself is set, a powerful opportunity to experience the landscape and literature side by side.
